Teddy bear clothing

Although teddy bear clothing can be purchased, if a person has a special request for certain kinds of out-of-the-ordinary clothing, it may be best to simply make the clothing.

In order to make teddy bear clothing:

• Decide – It is best to decide for sure what the entire outfit will be. If one part of the outfit needs to be changed, there is a strong chance that a lot of the outfit will need to be changed. By deciding exactly what a person wants, that person can avoid needing to start a whole project over.

• Measure on the bear – Just as a seamstress must measure dimensions before making any alterations, a person making teddy bear clothing must do the same for the bear. It is best to use a tape measure to see what the bear’s dimensions are. Specifically, it is likely that the arms, inseam, circumference of head and chest size will need to be measured.

• Use real clothes – When making something like blue jeans for a teddy bear to wear, a person can use fabric from a pair of old jeans to make teddy bear clothing. The same is true for shirts, scarves, blouses and skirts.

Pants for the bear are best made using elastic around the waist. This will help make sure the teddy bear clothing will fit properly.
